Anakbayan Alberta is a grassroots non-profit Filipino youth organization in Alberta. Oh You Fight Like A Girl is a Women’s Self Defense Workshop that took place in October of 2021. This workshop was taught in partnership by Anakybayan and instructors from Arashi-Do Martial Arts.

The workshop combines a mix of self-defence training and discussions of the issues of violence against women as well as discussions on the issues of violence against different minority groups, like workers, LGBTQIA+ communities, migrant communities, and students. The workshop taught participants basic self-defence techniques and raised awareness about the issues of violence against women, sexism, and racism within the community, locally and nationally.
