Pride Denied Documentary Screening and Panel Discussion

Pride Denied: Homonationalism & the Future of Queer Politics examines the ways that LGBTQ2S+ Pride celebrations have been co-opted by corporations and the state while making a compelling case for returning to the radical roots of the queer liberation movement through progressive political activism and grassroots community support.

Panel discussion with director Kami Chisholm and community members to follow the screening.

-There will be a ramp and ASL services at this event.
-Monetary donations accepted at the door.
-Donations to the Campus Food Bank will also be accepted at this event.

This screening and panel discussion is a collaborative event put together by Alberta Public Interest Research Group (APIRG), the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), University of Alberta Human Resource Services, Pride Centre of Edmonton, University of Alberta Office of Safe Disclosure and Human Rights, and the University of Alberta Faculty of Native Studies.
